Doily Easter Basket
from http://oldfashionedliving.com
This makes an adorable basket for placing your decorated Easter eggs, candy or as an Easter Basket for children.
You'll need:
Doilies (cotton or other material)
Fabric Stiffener
Plastic wrap
Bowls, varying sizes for molds
Ribbon |
|
Choose your bowls ahead of time. Larger ones for displaying eggs or to use as Easter baskets, or custard cups can be used for individual baskets that will hold candy, or one egg. These can be set in front of each place setting as favors that your guests can take home.
Cover your selected mold with plastic wrap. Work the fabric stiffener solution through a doily, then squeeze out the excess and shape the doily over the bottom of your bowl or custard cup. Let the doily dry overnight before removing it.
After the basket has dried you can thread your ribbon through the holes near the top edge and
tie a bow where you meet in the middle. Thin silk type ribbon works great for this. Use your
imagination as far as further decorating. The basket are pretty as is, but you can hot glue
on miniature roses, or other decorations too.
