10 Ways You Can Stop Feeling
Overwhelmed By Money and Start Making it Work For You
With more and more families deciding to have
a parent at home with their children these days, we need more and more ideas on how to
stretch the dollar and make it work harder for our families. Simple Money
Solutions by Nancy Lloyd helps us to do just that. She manages to fire on
all the cylinders that make up (or deplete) a budget. The layout, voice, and
language used are all such that the book is easy to read and follow. |

If you want specific information on a specific
topic, such as managing your automobile expenses for example, you can go straight to that
chapter to get some very useful and practical tools. Ms. Lloyd also features some
dynamic information on buying a home and being savvy about how realtors, mortgages, and
lenders all play a part in closing the deal. I found some pretty interesting
"blunders," as she refers to them, concerning what should be disclosed to your
realtor vs. what should not, dealing with the current owners, and establishing a fair
prices.
Interestingly, she even offers tips on landing a better job.
She touches on the resume, using the internet to get your name out there, answering
interview questions, and following up. If you are in the market for life insurance,
Ms. Lloyd has some recommendations on things to watch out for there, too.
I really like the manner in which Ms. Lloyd writes. Her
tone is intelligent but not condescending. She knows her stuff, and she wants the
reader to know it, too.
If you would rather read the Simple Money
Solutions as you would a novel, the information flows well enough from chapter to
chapter that you can do so and feel that you're learning as you go. Throughout the
book, the reader will find respectable resources to turn to for additional information,
including web site addresses, federal law facts, and phone numbers and addresses to
associations and agencies one can contact to further one's knowledge in the financial
arena.
I highly recommend this book. Whether you keep it on
your shelf as a handy reference tool or read it cover to cover on an as-needed basis, you
will certainly learn some valuable money-management tools.
